- Pharm Tech II and III: 4 x 10 hour shifts/varied
Available Retail Pharmacy Technician I, II and III Shifts:
- 40 hours per week
- Varied 8 or 10 Hour Shifts between 8:00AM - 7:00 PM Monday - Sunday
*Requires State of Alaska Pharmacy Technician License upon hire

This position functions in a support capacity in regards to compliance with USP 795/797/800 General Chapter. This includes room monitoring and cleaning, personnel training and testing, and required documentation. The specialist will work closely with the designated USP 795/797/800 pharmacist and pharmacy manager to ensure adherence and compliance with all regulations.

Alaska Pharmacy Technician License Required Prior to Start
This position functions in a support capacity for automated technology systems related to pharmacy distribution. This includes implementation, monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting and maintenance of the automated dispensing systems and computer software. Serves as the liaison between the pharmacy and nursing with regard to automated distribution systems. Interacts and trains pharmacy staff, physicians, and nursing staff on automated dispensing technology.

This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist. Performs routine duties in packaging, distribution, and record keeping of pharmaceutical supplies. Assists in preparing compounded and intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition products, and hazardous medications. Consistently demonstrates an ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose the appropriate course of action. Performs lead functions as related to workflow and/or acts as the responsible individual in specialty function or area. Educates, leads trainings, and oversees the activities of the Technician Apprentices, Technician I, Technician II, and Volunteers. Encourages and is instrumental in the training and orientation of new employees. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients being served.

This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist, has acquired advanced skills in pharmacy and has mastered all assigned tasks and categories of work in multiple areas and functions demonstrating the utmost competency and ability to lead. Will facilitate and participate in the training of pharmacy technician apprentices, dispensing, preparation and/or specialist pharmacy technicians. May also teach Pharmacists Technical skills within the scope of practice limitations for an Alaska Board of Pharmacy Licensed Pharmacy Tech.
