Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is looking for a Surgical Services PACU Registered Nurse Coordinator in beautiful Fairbanks, Alaska.  The Perianesthesia unit is comprised of Pre-Op and PACU Phase I and II.  PACU is an 12 bed unit located in our recently built state-of-the-art Surgery Center and boasts seven new operating suites with cutting edge technology. The dynamic Peri-Operative Department team provides care to patients of all surgical specialties of all ages from neonates through geriatrics (excluding neuro and cardiac) and averages 22 cases per day. The staff in the Perianethesia unit is a highly engaged team who value commitment and teamwork in the department.  Extensive orientation program developed using policy and the ASPAN (American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses) standards and Competency Based Orientation.     This position coordinates, plans, and directs the daily functioning and staffing needs of the unit or department under the guidance and direction of the director in an acute care environment. Provides leadership, positive role modeling and critical thinking skills to facilitate staff development. Serves as a liaison between all disciplines by effectively communicating, educating and problem solving. Proactively supports the quality and continuity of services throughout the healthcare systems.
