Performs assigned security duties promptly and accurately. Works varied assignments and shifts.

    Position Available

    This is temporay position, running through the end of December. 

    Day shift, nights, weekends and holiday coverage required. 

    Pay begins at $20.41 an hour. 

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    1. Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills and be customer service oriented in all contacts with patients, visitors and staff. 
    1. Tours and inspects facility frequently to assist in maintaining a safer and more secure environment. Assists employees with security related matters and enforces parking regulations and traffic control. Responds to all emergency codes for assistance and control. 
    1. Investigates and completes written reports of complaints, critical security incidents and unusual activities involving patients, employees and visitors; submits all reports to the security leadership by the end of the shift in which the report occurs. Maintains an accurate log of all relevant security activities during each shift. 
    1. Locks and unlocks facility doors at prescribed times. Checks unoccupied areas and sets the alarms when appropriate. Does money pick-ups from departments, logs pick-ups and successfully delivers the contents to the appropriate destination department. Releases bodies from the morgue, ensuring that all paperwork is complete. Checks alarms and fire extinguishers to ensure they are in proper working order. Escorts patients, visitors and employees. Assists medical staff in restraining and handling disturbed patients. 
    1. Presents a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. 
    1. Based on area of assignment may assist in the maintenance and preservation of confidential health documents including scanning into electronic patient health information systems. 

    Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

     

    Must possess the ability to make accurate observations and exercise good independent judgment in a variety of situations (including emergencies). Must have the ability to write comprehensive security reports.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Prefer experience in a similar healthcare capacity

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS

    FM - Typical Facilities/Maintenance/Outside Services Environment: (EVS Technician I, Electrician,

    Groundskeeper, M/R Courier)

    • Able to stand, climb, stoop, bend frequently; positions require considerable physical activity
    • May be required to lift up to 75 pounds.
    • Requires ability to tolerate exposure to conditions which may include toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, heights, high temperatures or confined spaces.
    • Able to use proper body mechanics to lift supplies and equipment and push carts and dollies weighing up to 500 lbs.
    • Needs adequate color vision. Must wear protective clothing as required.
    • May be required to travel to various locations.
    • Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
