Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is looking for a Surgical Services Registered Nurse Manager in beautiful Fairbanks, Alaska. This Surgical Services Registered Nurse Manager position will join a dynamic Peri-Operative Department team. The successful Registered Nurse Surgical Services Manager candidate will have at least 3 years of clinical experience relevant to the patient population and leadership experience. ACLS, PALS, BLS required. Knowledge of AORN standards and regulatory bodies required. Master's degree in nursing preferred. CNOR Certification preferred.
Responsible for ensuring that quality care is coordinated and delivered to patients, through careful management of staff and other resources. Demonstrates clinical expertise and provides leadership of clinical, financial, and personnel management of the assigned area(s). Utilizes clinical management knowledge and experience to ensure the provision of high quality, safe, and cost effective patient care. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patients. Generally reports to a director.

BSN within one year of obtaining the position.
Requires a current RN license in state of practice. BLS Required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Must possess at least 3 years of clinical experience relevant to patient population. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills of specialty area. Requires strong people management skills and abilities.
Requires critical thinking, communication, influence, decision-making, analytical, and flexibility skills to make optimal decisions based on multiple variables and desired outcomes. Requires the ability to balance clinical skills with supervisory authority. Must have the ability to consider the ultimate impact of decisions on the unit/department. Must have the ability to practice skills according to department and professional standards and quality requirements. Requires New Leader Experience certification within one year.
Master's degree in nursing preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
