    This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing biomedical equipment technologies, devices, instruments, and systems under direct supervision. Additional responsibilities may include inventory control.

     

    Associate’s degree in Biomedical Technologies from an accredited college highly preferred.

     

    Placement into Tech I/II slot will be determined by experience.

    Responsibilities

    1. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections and testing on a diverse range of therapeutic and diagnostic biomedical equipment, instrumentation, devices and systems using specialized test equipment, tools, simulation devices and phantoms. 
    1. Identifies, diagnoses, and implements minor repairs associated with equipment malfunctions on general low end-risk medical devices and equipment. 
    1. Assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of biomedical equipment. 
    1. Documents all work performed, maintains parts, supplies, tools, test equipment and technical literature by completing service reports and supplemental productivity documentation in an accurate and timely manner.Maintains an accurate and current parts inventory. 
    1. Provides customer relations and resolves equipment service problems by ensuring that clinical capability is restored as quickly as possible. Maintains communication with customers regarding the status of equipment repairs. 
    1. Assists with testing and calibrating equipment in accordance to manufacturers’ recommendations and/or other established guidelines. 

    Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Must possess a strong knowledge of electronics and how they relate to medical equipment as normally obtained through the completion of an Associate’s degree in Biomedical Technologies from an accredited college, technical school or equivalent experience.

     

    Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

     

    Understanding of the repair and maintenance of general low-risk to high-risk medical equipment technology devices.

     

    Knowledge of the application and use of PC’s and how it interfaces with medical equipment. Understanding of the technical aspects of electronic equipment, its operation, repair and maintenance.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Two years industry experience.

     

    Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
