This position evaluates, identifies, plans, and leads patient safety and quality initiatives at both the system and facility level, with the goal of reducing patient harm and preventing negative outcomes. The role collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to monitor performance, investigate events, and implement evidence-based improvements. It supports a culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and service excellence through proactive assessment and effective communication.

 

Pay & Benefits:

  • Compensation: $33.12 to $53.00 hourly wage based on experience and education
  • Additional Pay: Shift Differential, Annual Increases, Paid Time Off

Responsibilities

  • Conducts ongoing performance assessments of departments and facilities using clinical outcome data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Responds to, investigates, and analyzes quality and patient safety events and care issues. Actively identifies patient safety opportunities.
  • Applies process improvement tools and methodologies to reduce variation, enhance safety, and prevent harm.
  • Reviews and communicates lessons learned; presenting findings and recommendations/required actions to avoid future exposure of harm to patients. Presents data and reports, deficiencies identified during internal surveillance and monitoring, and the status of implementation to key stakeholders and identified committees.
  • Collaborates with care teams, risk management, clinical disciplines, and facility leadership to address safety gaps and drive best practices.
  • Provides education and resources to staff and leaders on patient safety requirements, compliance standards, and quality improvement strategies.
  • Maintains compliance with organizational policies, professional standards, and accreditation/regulatory requirements.
  • Consistently models Foundation Health’s core and leadership behaviors to deliver an exceptional service experience

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Qualifications

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in nursing or related field.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice or clinical background with valid license/certification or equivalent experience.
  • Requires a proficiency level typically attained with five (5) years acute care clinical experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in managing programs and projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis, prioritize competing tasks, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred.
  • Experience in process improvement, data management and analysis, group facilitation, and visual reporting tools.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
