Foundation Health Partners (FHP) is looking for a Histotechnogist to join the team!
This position uses a variety of technical and analytical skills to process histologic and cytologic specimens and to prepare blocks and slides to aid the pathologist in the diagnosis of patients. Assures timely and quality work through the evaluation of quality control material, proper instrument maintenance and processing of appropriate samples. This position utilizes professional judgment, knowledge and leadership to develop new methods, educate others, improve systems and demonstrate responsibility for administrative duties in the laboratory.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
Associate degree in a chemical or biological science or medical laboratory technology obtained from an accredited institution or equivalent education and training typically demonstrated through 60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution. This education must include 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses that include six semester hours of chemistry, six semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination, and Laboratory training including either completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES, NAACLS, or other organization approved by HHS (this training may be included in the 60 semester hours listed above), or at least three months of recorded laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing.
Students may be hired at the job title equivalent to their future certification under the following conditions: The student is enrolled in a clinically recognized program (MLT, MLS, or HT/HTL), the Student’s Clinical rotation in the core area must be completed before working in that core area, and the student must complete the program and pass the certification test within one year of hire.
HT, HLT, or MLT ASCP certification or equivalent such as ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB.) If there is no current U.S. certification, it must be obtained within one year. Individuals with specialty certification may only work in the discipline of their specialty.
Requires strong computer experience with standard office software suites. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritize, attention to detail, and critical thinking are essential. Must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
