This position provides basic to intermediate operator and mechanical maintenance services. Operates, repairs, and maintains stationary equipment including boilers, generators, refrigeration, etc. for the FHP hospital system. Ensures that equipment is operating safely and within established limits. Conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair or replacement of parts. Performs preventative maintenance and documents completed procedures.

Shift Differentials Available: $2.00/hr. Weekend- $2.50/hr. Evening
Initial Training Schedule will be Monday-Friday, 7:00AM - 3:00PM
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge, plus vocational or technical training. Must possess a valid driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
Requires 1 year of relevant plant and mechanical maintenance experience. Must possess basic to intermediate skills in the field of plant operations. Must have working knowledge of utility and infrastructure systems and components common to the healthcare environment. Must be able to exercise independent decision making and judgment in the performance of all duties. Requires the ability to work safely and effectively with infrastructure and utility equipment.
May require Universal Refrigerant handling certification, depending on the state. Must be proficient in reading and understanding related and required maintenance and construction documents. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
Must have flexible scheduling availability. Must have the ability to work up to 10 hour shifts if required. May require call.
Must be able to work effectively with plant computer software programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of applicable regulatory codes and State and local building codes.
Previous construction experience is preferred.
Previous customer service experience is preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
